Women in Sports Week in Ringsend Dojo. 2 March 2026

Today in Ringsend Dojo we began with kids class: 🔹 Tai no Henko 🔹 Tai no Henko Ki no Nagare 🔹 Morotedori Kokyuho 🔹 Katatedori Kokyuho 🔹 Katatedori Ikkyo 🔹 Zagi Kokyuho In the adult class, we held our first event in the  Women in Sports Week  series, welcoming brave and curious ladies eager to explore the art of Aikido. Balbriggan Dojo. Women in Sports Week. 8 March 2025

Today, we wrapped up our Women in Sports Week with an inspiring session at Balbriggan Dojo. We had the pleasure of welcoming determined and open-minded women who joined us to explore the foundations of Aiki-ken. The class focused on essential sword work, building precision and flow through these movements: Ken no Kamae Migi & Hidari Shiboru Undo Migi & Hidari Suburi 1 Suburi 2 Suburi 3 Suburi 4 Suburi 5 Suburi 6 Suburi 7 Zengogiri Shihogiri Migi & Hidari. Each new participant received a special gift, thanks to the generous support of Fingal County Sports Office . Today, we held the second session of our Women in Sports Week series at Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre—another inspiring day on the mats! We were delighted to welcome more bold and curious women eager to experience the graceful power of Aikido. With our usual space unavailable, we practised in a smaller room—demonstrating that Aikido can be practised anywhere with the right spirit. 🔹 We began with core movements: ◾ Hanmi Migi & Hidari ◾ Irimi ◾ Tenkan ◾ Irimi-Tenkan From there, we explored a variety of Aikido techniques, blending fluid motion with connection and balance: 🔹 Tai no Henko 🔹 Tai no Henko Irimi 🔹 Katatedori Kokyuho 🔹 Katatedori Kotegaeshi 🔹 Tsuki Kotegaeshi 🔹 Zagi Kokyuho ✨ All  new participants received thoughtful gifts from Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership —a warm thank you for supporting this empowering initiative! 💪 One more opportunity remains!
