Yesterday, we hosted a "Come and Try Aikido" class at Balbriggan Dojo as part of Women in Sports Week 2024. Unfortunately, the event didn't receive as much attention as we had hoped. Perhaps due to Mother's Day, very few women signed up for the event and even fewer showed up at the dojo. Nevertheless, we proceeded with the class and covered the basics of Aikido techniques. As is customary in Balbriggan dojo, we began with safe falling exercises including forward rolls and backward falls. We then moved on to basic Aikido techniques such as basic controls and breathing exercises. We hope that our future events will attract more attention than this one.
