Ringsend Dojo. Women in Sports Week. 5 March 2023

Today, we held the second session of our Women in Sports Week series at Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre—another inspiring day on the mats!

We were delighted to welcome more bold and curious women eager to experience the graceful power of Aikido.

With our usual space unavailable, we practised in a smaller room—demonstrating that Aikido can be practised anywhere with the right spirit.

🔹 We began with core movements:
◾ Hanmi Migi & Hidari
◾ Irimi
◾ Tenkan
◾ Irimi-Tenkan

From there, we explored a variety of Aikido techniques, blending fluid motion with connection and balance:

🔹 Tai no Henko
🔹 Tai no Henko Irimi
🔹 Katatedori Kokyuho
🔹 Katatedori Kotegaeshi
🔹 Tsuki Kotegaeshi
🔹 Zagi Kokyuho

All new participants received thoughtful gifts from Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership—a warm thank you for supporting this empowering initiative!

💪 One more opportunity remains! Join us this Saturday in Balbriggan for the final session of Women in Sports Week.

Come as you are—no experience needed!
