Ringsend Dojo. 4 February 2026

Today we were delighted to welcome back on the mats Francesco Berni, one of the people who was there at the very beginning of Takemusu Aikido Society five years ago. Francesco served as our assistant instructor from the start until his move to Italy in 2022, and it was a real pleasure to train together again.

Today’s practice covered:

  • Tai no henko

  • Tai no henko, ki no nagare

  • Morotedori kokyuho

  • Morotedori (twisted arm) kokyuho

  • Morotedori (twisted arm) kokyunage

  • Morotedori (twisted arm) ikkyo

  • Morotedori (twisted arm) kotegaeshi, oyo waza

  • Morotedori (twisted arm) iriminage

Afterwards, we invited Francesco to teach a technique of his choice. As an experienced Daito-ryu practitioner, he introduced us to shomen uchi ikkajo, the technique later transformed by O-Sensei into shomen uchi ikkyo. A valuable reminder of the deep roots of our practice.

As always, we finished the session with zagi kokyuho.

Grateful for the shared practice and the connections that continue to grow over the years.
