Dublin Comic Con Day 1. 8 August 2026

 Our First Dublin Comic Con! ⚔️

Today was our very first time taking part in Dublin Comic Con, and what a day it was!

We shared a demonstration area with the fantastic Ludo Sports team, and had a table where we could meet visitors, chat about aikido, and introduce people to what we do.

For our demonstrations, we decided to show the different aspects of our weapons practice, starting with Aiki-ken Suburi, followed by Kumitachi and some of its variations.

Then we moved on to Aiki-jo, demonstrating the 6 no Jo Kata and 13 no Jo Kata, together with Awase, Kumijo, and Ken Tai Jo.

And, of course, Comic Con wouldn't be Comic Con without some unexpected encounters! We met Dave the Raven, a Prussian general, Michael Jackson, and many, many other characters throughout the day. We even found ourselves in a battle against a Jedi! ⚔️😄

It was great fun sharing aikido with such an enthusiastic crowd and being part of the incredible Comic Con atmosphere.
