Ringsend Dojo. 10 March 2025

Today, a few of our kids arrived in their keikogi for the very first time! We kicked things off by learning how to tie their belts correctly—an essential step on their Aikido journey.

After a warm-up with stretching and core-strength exercises, we worked on front and back rolls from a standing position, building confidence and agility. The techniques we practised included:

  • Tai no Henko
  • Tai no Henko Ki no Nagare
  • Morotedori Kokyuho
  • Kosadori Kotegaeshi
  • Zagi Kokyuho

In the adult class, we welcomed a visitor who practised Aikido years ago but now trains in BJJ. It was great to share the mat with someone bringing different skills and perspectives—a reminder that Aikido is for all walks of life! Together, we explored:

  • Tai no Henko
  • Tai no Henko Ki no Nagare
  • Morotedori Kokyuho
  • Shomen Uchi Kotegaeshi Kihon
  • Shomen Uchi Kotegaeshi Ki no Nagare Ai Hanmi
  • Shomen Uchi Kotegaeshi Ki no Nagare Gyaku Hanmi
  • Morotedori Kotegaeshi
  • Zagi Kokyuho
