Balbriggan Dojo. 16 February 2025

Today, we held our final Aikido practice at Beyond Jiu-Jitsu Academy on Hampton Street, closing a 3.5-year-long chapter in our dojo’s history.

While we say goodbye to this space, our Aikido spirit remains strong as we move forward to a new location next week—stay tuned for updates!
For our last class here, we focused on the review of Osae Waza techniques, honouring the space that hosted us for so long:

  • Tai no Henko
  • Tai no Henko Ki no Nagare
  • Morotedori Kokyuho
  • Katatedori Ikkyo Omote & Ura
  • Katatedori Nikyo Omote & Ura
  • Katatedori Sankyo Omote & Ura
  • Katatedori Yonkyo Omote & Ura
  • Zagi Kokyuho
The two pictures below capture a special moment—one from our very first practice here and the other from today, our last. A dojo is not defined by its walls but by the people who bring it to life. Thank you to everyone who made this space a home for Aikido.
