Today, a new chapter for the Fingal branch of Takemusu Aikido Society began as we held our first class at Balbriggan Clubs Community Centre. After 3 years at our previous location, this spacious hall with high ceilings opens new possibilities—especially for bukiwaza, where we can now explore weapon work without space limitations. Today in Ringsend Dojo we started with the kids' class.  Warm-up, stretching and strength exercises Mae and Ushiro Shikko Mae and Ushiro Ukemi Tai no Henko Morotedori Kokyuho Tsuki Kotegaeshi Kosadori Kotegaeshi Zagi Kokyuho Our adults' class had fewer people on the mats today, and our youngest member asked if we could do something "cool." What could be cooler than Iwama’s morning training? Today, we held our final Aikido practice at Beyond Jiu-Jitsu Academy on Hampton Street, closing a 3.5-year-long chapter in our dojo’s history. While we say goodbye to this space, our Aikido spirit remains strong as we move forward to a new location next week—stay tuned for updates! This Monday Ringsend & Irishtown Community Centre was closed due to a bank holiday, so we shifted the kids' class to Wednesday.  As always we did core strength and stretching exercises, followed by ukemi and shikko practice.
