Today at Balbriggan Dojo, we were thrilled to host a travel aikidoka visiting us from Sweden during his business trip to Ireland, and a newcomer who stepped onto the mat for the very first time. The mix of advanced, first-time visitors and our regular members (slightly fewer number than usual due to cancelled trains from Dublin) created an exciting atmosphere for practice. We focused on fundamental techniques with intricate details, ensuring everyone could engage and learn at their own level: 🔹 Tai no Henko 🔹 Tai no Henko Ki no Nagare 🔹 Morotedori Kokyuho 🔹 Kosadori Kotegaeshi 1 : "You are welcome" entrance, sitting control 🔹 Kosadori Kotegaeshi 2 : Hand inwards, standing control 🔹 Kosadori Iriminage 1 : "You are welcome" entrance 🔹 Kosadori Iriminage 2 : Hand inwards 🔹 Zagi Kokyuho We welcome practitioners of all levels and ages to join us at Takemusu Aikido Society. Whether you’re taking your first steps in Aikido or refining your skills, our classes offer...

Our First Dublin Comic Con! ⚔️ Today was our very first time taking part in Dublin Comic Con , and what a day it was! We shared a demonstration area with the fantastic Ludo Sports team, and had a table where we could meet visitors, chat about aikido, and introduce people to what we do. For our demonstrations, we decided to show the different aspects of our weapons practice, starting with Aiki-ken Suburi , followed by Kumitachi and some of its variations. Then we moved on to Aiki-jo , demonstrating the 6 no Jo Kata and 13 no Jo Kata , together with Awase , Kumijo , and Ken Tai Jo . And, of course, Comic Con wouldn't be Comic Con without some unexpected encounters! We met Dave the Raven , a Prussian general, Michael Jackson, and many, many other characters throughout the day. We even found ourselves in a battle against a Jedi! ⚔️😄 It was great fun sharing aikido with such an enthusiastic crowd and being part of the incredible Comic Con atmosphere. A huge thank you to everyone w...
