Today we practised again in Ringsend Park before the main class at Ringsend & Irishtown Community Centre. We repeated Jo Suburi again: Tsuki no Bu: • Chokuzuki • Kaeshizuki • Ushirozuki • Tsuki Gedan Gaeshi • Tsuki Jodan Gaeshi Men Uchi no Bu: • Shomen Uchi Komi • Renzoku Uchi Komi • Men Uchi Gedan Gaeshi • Men Uchi Ushirozuki • Gyaku Yokomen Ushirozuki The regular class was focused on aplication of Ikkyo Omote techniques for different attacks: • Tai no Henko • Tai no Henko • Morotedori Kokyuho • Suwariwaza Shomen Uchi Ikkyo Omote • Shomen Uchi Ikkyo Omote • Yokomen Uchi Ikkyo Omote • Tsuki Uchi Ikkyo Omote • Zagi Kokyuho ✨  Join Us! Today we were proud to represent Takemusu Aikido Society at the 17th Annual May Day Parade hosted by the wonderful team at Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre (RICC). We gathered at the Community Centre and marched through the local streets, sharing in the festive spirit of our community. Then we presented elements of Aiki-Ken and Aiki-Jo on the main stage, including: Aiki-Ken Suburi Ken Awase 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Kumitachi Aiki-Jo Suburi – Tsuki no Bu 6-no-Jo Kata and Awase 13-no-Jo Kata and Awase 31-no-Jo Kata As there were no mats available, demonstrations focused solely on Bukiwaza (weapon techniques), offering the audience a glimpse into the precision, harmony, and depth of traditional Aikido weapon practice. A heartfelt thank you to RICC for the invitation, hospitality, and all the amazing work they do to keep community spirit alive in Ringsend and Irishtown. Today in Balbriggan Dojo, we welcomed the father of one of our members, who came to practise with us while he visited his son.  Today at our Balbriggan Dojo, we had the pleasure of welcoming the father of one of our members, who joined us on the mat while visiting his son — a heartwarming moment that beautifully captured the spirit of Aikido across generations.
